Monday made it!!

I was actually able to get into my classroom last week! I  know what you're thinking...crazy girl why on earth would you want to be in your classroom already when you got out barely a month ago!?!?!??!?! The boys were able to go with me and be in summer school all day and therefore I only had to pay for a sitter for 1 instead of 3 that's why! I got stuff moved where I *think* it's going to go, and some things unpacked, mostly I just made lists of things I need to do and or make! My hubby did come up on his day off and work on some projects for me even! I did manage to get a FEW things done and I have 3 items to share with you today - two school related one home.

I always tell my students, kids, to get better at anything you have to Practice, Practice, Practice, so I loved this idea I saw on Pinterest for my Book Nook/Reading Area. It was super easy to make. I created it in Word, printed it off trimmed it down matted on Chevron scrapbook paper and laminated!

Next up is a Re-Do! I made these table signs two summers ago and I love love love them! A scrappy friend and I both made the same kind the same summer after I saw them on a CHA post from MME. They are giant Rosettes! I am really hoping with my re-do they last one more year cause they are a pain in the *you know what* to make!

I created the new centers in Photoshop, printed off two copies, cut them out, glued them over the old centers and boom! New table signs added color and chevron to go with my updated theme!

Here is one hanging - it kept spinning so picture is blurry!

I made a patriotic Mesh wreath for our door for this summer!
It's pretty easy once you get going! I had made one before but it was a Christmas one with a evergreen wreath.
First you cut pipe cleaners sorry Chenille stems (when did they become Chenille stems?) into 4ths (could probably do half I have lots left) then loosely twist around frame at intervals, I did 3 loops around the frame to make the wreath nice and full.

Then choose your wire mesh or wired ribbon would work too. The brown and blue is going to be a fall wreath! The burlap is for my mom to make one :)

To start secure the end of the wire mesh with the pipe cleaner  Chenille Stem, then make a loop to the next Chenille stem and keep going around and round until you are done and secure the end just like the rest of the loops - you might have to use another piece of Chenille stem so save a few.

I didn't really take pics of the looping process! I was too focused! lol I will say smaller loops are better and hide the frame better!

When you are done fluff the loops out and it will look like this

I then added some silver ribbon I had for a little extra touch, just weaving it in and out!

Finally I hot glued some red, white, and blue daisies I got for $1 for the whole bunch at Michael's!

There ready to hang!

  1. My fire marshall made me take down my table signs this year:((( I've had them for 8 years - I mean if the building is on fire, are my little table signs going to make it explode? Nope.

I love your table signs!!! So cute - kind of retro.
