5 for Friday 7/10

Hiya! It's Friday, already? AGAIN. This week flew by! It was my last week of summer school and now I am officially on  summer break! YAY!

So let's get to the 5 for Friday with Doodle Bugs Teaching!

We had a wonderful 4th of July weekend! Friday night we went to my good teacher friend Shelly's (The Chewsy Teacher on TPT -she's just starting out) for a BBQ - the kids had a great time. Saturday Andrew was on call so we stayed home and grilled with the neighbors.

I am not a super huge fan of spending lots of money one something you blow up but I do like the lanterns!

I have really enjoyed the TPT Sellers Challenge this summer - this week I finished up the Make your Masterpiece challenge by Finishing this 1st Grade Back to School Activity Pack!!

This last week of Summer School was super fun! We went on two field trips.
First to the Remington Nature Center where we learned about birds. This is a GREAT place for a day trip or for a Field trip - especially for 4th grade Missouri curriculum!!

and then we went to Rosecrans Air Guard Base and got to see their Fire Department and inside a C130! So cool!

I was super sad to not get to go to the TPT Conference in Vegas this year. I attended the I Teach K in Vegas 8 years ago and it was the best teacher conference I have ever been to so I can only imagine what the TPT one is like! I was worried that I was going to be super jelly.....until I saw Luck Little Learners post about Periscope! I jumped on the bandwagon and have been watching live broadcasts from Vegas!
So what is this "Periscope"?
It is an app by Twitter that allows anyone to broadcast videos LIVE.
Just download the app.

Make sure you sign up for the notifications so you know when the people you follow are live!

Seriously Angie from Lucky Little Learners and Ashley from Schroeder's Second Grade Shenanigans are so awesome and inspiring! I am going to "flip the camera" and I am going to do my first video TODAY at about 2:30 MIDWEST time!

But my biggest takeaway from their videos has been the FIND YOUR TRIBE!
Social media is BLOWING up with #Find Your Tribe!

I have joined two tribes on Facebook and would love for you to join me!

Just click the pictures to go to the FB groups and then click JOIN!

And finally I am almost done with my Teacher Binder/Planner!!! This is based on the planner/binder I use. I have added and tweaked and am almost ready to post it on TPT! It has over 100 pages!!! Be sure to be on the look out for a full blog post coming soon!

  1. Okay, I have to check out your store! Your products look great, and I teach 1st! Everyone is talking about Periscope. I guess I am going to have to give in and try it, but I am scared! HA! Enjoy your summer! :)
